Job summary

Full Time Sports Bar and Eatery in Kingsland, Auckland is seeking an experienced Bar Manager to lead our bar operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and a vibrant atmosphere.

You will oversee beverage service, staff performance, and stock management, with a focus on labour control, compliance with licensing laws, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Bar Manager or similar leadership role in hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beers, wines and other beverages.
• Excellent leadership and team management with ability to motivate and develop staff.
• Outstanding customer service and ability to create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and bar management software.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-volume service with labour control and stock management.
• Oversee daily bar operations, opening/closing procedures, and stock.
• Supervise and train staff to maintain high service standards.

Bar Manager

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager to join our team at Full Time Sports Bar and Eatery, located in Kingsland, Auckland. This is a full-time position where you will lead our bar operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient bar management, and a vibrant atmosphere that keeps our guests coming back. As Bar Manager, you will be instrumental in maintaining our reputation as a premier destination, overseeing all aspects of beverage service, staff performance, and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Proven track record running high-volume service with a sharp eye for labour control, stock management, and seamless shift execution.
• Manage all daily bar operations, including opening and closing procedures, and stock management
• Supervise and train staff, ensuring consistent high standards of service and product knowledge
• Manage beverage stock, inventory audits, place orders for spirits, beers, wines and other beverages
• Ensure compliance with all licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and responsible service of alcohol policies
• Foster a positive team environment and conduct regular staff briefings and performance reviews

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience as a Bar Manager or similar leadership position within a hospitality environment
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beers, wines and other beverages
• Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
• Outstanding customer service skills and ability to create a welcoming atmosphere
• Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and bar management software
• Excellent communication and organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
• Valid New Zealand work visa or citizenship
• Hospitality qualifications or certifications (LCQ, Managers Cert, ServeWise) are advantageous
