Job summary

SeaLink Travel Group is hiring casual and fixed-term Café Bar Assistants based at Half Moon Bay and Auckland CBD for the summer season. Start early November through end of March 2027. You will learn the ropes of a Deckhand while assisting with operational and safety duties.

Shifts start as early as 5:00am and finish as late as 8:00pm; reliable transport is essential. If you enjoy customer service, food service, and working with a great team, this is a fantastic seasonal opportunity.

Qualifications

• Experience in café or retail environment.
• Knowledge of safe sale of alcohol is a plus.
• Ability to work early mornings and adapt to busy periods.

With summer fast approaching, we have opportunities for casual and fixed-termCafé Bar Assistants, who will be based at Half Moon Bay and Auckland CBD and will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction while contributing to the café’s overall efficiency.Our summer fixed-term positions start early November and go through until the end of March 2027.Working in this role, you will have the opportunity to learn the ropes of a Deckhand through assisting our Deckhands with operational and safety duties!

Shifts start as early as 5:00am and finish as late as 8pm. Due to the early starts, access to your own reliable private transportation is essential.

To be successful in this role, you must have your own reliable transport and should possess the following skills, knowledge, and qualities:

• Previous experience in a café or retail environment
• Understanding the principals of the safe sale and supply of alcohol
• Good local knowledge of visitor attractions
• Experience with POS systems
• A demonstrated ability to work under pressure
• Able to adapt easily to changing work conditions
• Ability to resolve customer queries with initiative and a positive attitude while being a productive team member.
