Lakeland Queen is looking for a friendly, reliable and experienced hospitality professional to join our team for the new cruise season opening October 1st.
We’re looking for someone who can confidently take on a front-of-house role and act as Duty Manager aboard the Lakeland Queen.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied hospitality role, working in a unique setting and providing great service to our guests.
The position is approximately 15 hours per week, generally working Saturday & Sunday, with the potential for additional shifts on other days for private events and functions.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing warm, friendly and professional customer service
Taking orders and serving food and beverages
Preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks
Opening and closing duties
Handling EFTPOS, cash and basic till responsibilities
Maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming front-of-house area
Acting as Duty Manager when required
Ensuring responsible service of alcohol and compliance with licensing requirements
Helping ensure the safety and wellbeing of guests and staff
Assisting with private functions and special events
Working as part of a small, hands-on team
We’re looking for someone who:
Has previous front-of-house/hospitality experience
Holds a current Duty Manager's Certificate
Is confident serving alcohol responsibly
Is friendly, professional and enjoys interacting with customers
Is reliable, punctual and able to work independently
Can stay calm and organised during busy services and events
Has a positive, can-do attitude
Is flexible and available for occasional additional private functions
Hospitality experience and a Duty Manager's Certificate are essential for this role. Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand and hold a valid visa or work entitlement that allows them to work in this role.
