The Office Manager is responsible for the overall administration and smooth daily operation of Evan Painting Auckland Ltd, a well-established painting and renovation enterprise based in Auckland. The role oversees office services, resource allocation, record-keeping, workplace health & safety compliance. This position collaborates with operational painting teams to align office administration with residential and commercial painting, gib stopping and wallpaper-removal project delivery.

Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the planning and periodic review of office services and internal operational standards to support the company’s residential and commercial painting & renovation projects.
- Allocate company human resources, office workspace and operational equipment to meet project and business requirements.
- Assign administrative-related work tasks and monitor the day-to-day work performance of office-based staff.
- Manage company office records, administrative files and office-level accounts, maintain accurate documentation for painting and renovation project administration.
- Monitor and ensure regular maintenance of office equipment; oversee ordering, stock levels and replenishment of office consumables and supplies.
- Implement and monitor workplace health and safety regulations within the office environment, ensure office-side compliance for the painting business.
- Ensure all office-related work adheres to applicable New Zealand government legislation, organisational policies and internal procedures.
- Co-ordinate core personnel-focused activities including candidate hiring support, staff promotion processes, performance management cycles, payroll administration support, staff training arrangements and ongoing team supervision for administrative staff.
- Act as the internal liaison between office administration and on-site painting project teams, support project-related administrative follow-up for residential house painting, commercial painting, gib stopping and wallpaper removal jobs.
Qualifications:
- A diploma or higher qualification in Business Administration, Office Management, Business Management, or a closely related field is required.
- Alternatively, a minimum of three years of relevant full-time work experience in office administration or office management will be accepted in lieu of formal qualifications.
- Solid understanding of customer service principles, client communication standards, and compliance requirements applicable to painting and renovation service businesses.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret client feedback, identify service risks, and develop practical solutions to address customer concerns.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain project details, service terms, and resolution plans clearly to clients, internal teams, and senior management.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, combined with the ability to manage multiple client projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and prioritise tasks effectively to maintain high customer satisfaction rates.
Remuneration and work location:
- Pay range from: $36-$38per hour
- Minimum working hours: 40full time position
