Job summary

BEST FOREVER LIMITED in Auckland is seeking two full-time permanent painters to join our growing team. The role is based within the Auckland Region and requires working from Monday to Friday, 9:00-15:30, at least 30 hours per week.

You will be responsible for surface preparation, painting, and finishing tasks with attention to detail, teamwork, and a can-do attitude. A relevant qualification or 2 years' experience is expected, and the team offers a supportive, diverse working environment.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ relevant work experience in painting/related field.
• Level 4 or higher qualification in painting or related field, or higher education.
• Be a great team player and able to follow instructions.
• Be physically fit and willing to work hard.
• Good eye for detail and practical problem solving.
• Can-do attitude and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Prepare areas by covering with cloth/plastic and taping as needed.
• Prepare walls/surfaces by cleaning, scraping, sanding and washing as required.
• Fill holes/cracks and smooth surfaces before painting.
• Move furniture/equipment to access surfaces.
• Estimate paint quantity and project timelines.
• Mix paints to required colours per instructions.
• Apply paint/varnish using brushes, rollers, sprays or power tools.
• Provide decorative/finishing touches as required.
• Identify/purchase materials such as paints and supplies.
• Clean up and restore site after project completion.

We are looking for 2 full-time permanent (working at least 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00-15:30) Painters to grow with our team.

The location of work is within Auckland Region.

The duties include:

• Prepare the surrounding area by covering with cloth or plastic to prevent mess; tape off areas as needed
• Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint, fixtures and washing walls, etc
• Fill holes and cracks on the surface, conceal and smooth the areas require painting
• Move furniture and equipment as necessary to reach the entire surface of the project
• Calculate the amount of paint and time required for the project
• Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right colour according to instructions
• Apply mixed paint and varnished to surfaces using hand/power tools, brushes, rollers and sprays
• Provide decorative and faux finishes as the project requires
• Identify and purchase the correct materials such as paint, brushes, and other supplies when required
• Clean up equipment and replace fixtures as required when project is complete

To be successful you will need:

• Ideal candidates should have at least 2 years’ relevant work experience in the same field or industry, or
• At least have a relevant level 4 or above qualification in the same field/industry, or a bachelor level or higher qualification in any field or discipline
• Be a great team player, be able to follow instructions
• Be physically fit and willingness to work hard
• Good eye for details and an ability to solve problems practically
• A "can-do" attitude
