Job summary

Pizza Hut Invercargill is seeking three full-time Duty Managers to join our team. You will assist store management with recruitment, training, scheduling, and daily operations to ensure quality service and food safety.

Candidates should have a hospitality or business qualification (or six months in management), strong numeracy, good communication, basic IT skills, and a valid driver's license.

Job description

We are looking for three duty managers at Pizza Hut-Invercargill to work full-time.

Duty managers are expected to work a minimum of 30-35 hours a week on a weekly payroll. Hours are rostered weekly and may include weekend shifts.

Role and Responsibilities – Duty Manager

• 1. Assist the store manager/assistant manager with recruitment, training and store management.
• 2. Assist and monitor new staff induction programmes and help them to complete courses within the stipulated time.
• 3. Control day-to-day operations by scheduling labour, ordering food and supplies and developing team members.
• 4. Assist the manager in serving high-quality products to customers and ensure good quality of food and 100% customer satisfaction.
• 5. Maintain records of stock levels and financial transactions.
• 6. Manage Shift Supervisors and Team Members.
• 7. Ensure national and local health and safety codes and company safety and security policies are met.
• 8. Negotiate competitive deals with customers for large orders with approval from the manager and be involved in the marketing of catering for large functions.
• 9. Arrange the purchasing and pricing of goods according to the budget. Learn about and analyse P&L results. Learning to operate within established guidelines for expenditure and approval authority.
• 10. Ensure complete and timely execution of corporate and local marketing programmes.
• 11. Attend and assist in conducting regular staff meetings.
• 12. Be responsible for shifts under the direct supervision and manage the functioning of the store by assisting the store manager.

Duty Manager Requirements:

• 1. Relevant qualification (2 or 3 or higher) in hospitality or business, or a minimum of six months of work experience in any management role, full-time, working in the fast food industry.
• 2. Relevant numerical skills.
• 3. Good oral/written communication skills.
• 4. Basic computer literacy.
• 5. A valid driver's licence is required – you need to drive a car without a supervisor.
