Bring your energy and uncover A Thousand Ways of Happiness with us.
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and service-focused Night Porter to join our Front Office team. As one of the key faces of the hotel overnight, you'll play an important role in creating a safe, welcoming and memorable experience for our guests while supporting the smooth operation of the hotel throughout the night.
Here’s what you can expect when you join our team:
Ideally, you have previous experience in a customer-facing hospitality or service role; however, we offer excellent training for the hospitality professionals of the future, so experience is not essential. You enjoy working night shifts and take pride in providing exceptional guest service. You communicate confidently in English, remain calm under pressure and enjoy helping others. You understand the importance of maintaining a safe and secure environment overnight and are respected for your professionalism, reliability and high standards. Previous experience using Opera is advantageous but not essential.
In this role, you will ensure a positive guest experience by welcoming late arrivals, assisting with guest enquiries, explaining hotel facilities and anticipating guest needs throughout the night. You'll assist guests with their luggage, deliver room service orders, complete public area cleaning and set-up tasks, conduct security walks and support other hotel departments as required to ensure the hotel operates smoothly overnight. A good level of strength and fitness is essential, as the role involves regular manual handling of guest luggage and other physical duties.
This is a permanent part-time position with a minimum of 32 hours per week, with an hourly wage rate of between $26.50 and $27.50. You must be flexible for shifts that include weekends and public holidays.
you MUST be a New Zealand citizen or resident. If you have secured the right to work in New Zealand and therefore hold another valid visa, we welcome your application too.
