Job summary

Crowne Plaza Queenstown, located on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, is seeking a Night Porter for a permanent overnight role. You’ll help keep public spaces spotless, assist with guest check-in/check-out, and ensure a welcoming, safe atmosphere for our guests.

You must be willing to work 11pm–7:30am, weekends and public holidays, and have a NZ driver’s license. NZQF Level 2/3 in hospitality or customer service or 1 year of relevant experience is required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work the overnight shift 11:00 pm–7:30 am, including weekends and public holidays.
• NZ driver’s license required.
• NZQF Level 2/3 qualification in hospitality or customer service OR at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Guest-focused with a friendly, proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Ensure public spaces and bathrooms are clean and ready for the next day.
• Assist guests with check-in/check-out as required.
• Create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for guests.
• Respond quickly to guest requests and deliver room service as needed.
• Assist with preparing spaces for following shifts, including breakfast team support.
• Valet parking and retrieving cars for guests.

TheCrowne Plaza Queenstownis located on the shores of Lake Wakatipu in the heart of New Zealand's South Island. Our 4.5 starhotel is looking for aNight Porter to join our friendly and professional team. This will be a permanent position with a minimum guarantee of 30 hours per week.

A little taste of your day-to-day

The moment a guest steps into one of our hotels, they walk into a genuinely memorable experience.

In your Night Porter duties, you will be responsible for ensuring the public spaces and bathrooms are clean and ready for the following day.

Other duties include:

• In the event of an emergency, you will assist your leader with hotel evacuation.
• Checking guests in/out as required.
• Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes our guests feel at home.
• Respond quickly to guest requests
• Make & deliver room service requests
• Assist with preparing spaces for the following shifts, including assisting the breakfast team where needed.
• Valet parking and retrieving cars for guests

What we need from you

Be a night owl! You will be required to work the overnight shift from 11pm to 7.30am and able to work on weekends and public holidays.

You will be guest focused, with no request too big or too small to ensure guest satisfaction.

A team player attitude - willing to support the breakfast or early front desk teams if required

• Have a full driver's license
• A NZQF Level 2 or 3 Qualification in hospitality, customer service, or a related field OR at least 1 year of relevant experience.
