Job summary

Mercure Queenstown Resort, part of the Accor group, seeks a Night Manager to oversee all hotel operations during the night shift. You will manage the night audit, front desk, and guest requests, ensuring accurate postings and secure operations.

Ideal candidates have experience in hotel front office, strong Opera PMS knowledge, and the ability to work independently overnight. This role includes light cleaning and porter duties, with a 30-hour workweek at NZD 32.59 per hour.

Qualifications

• Liquor license controller qualification and Duty Manager Certificate required.
• Previous experience in hotel front office operations, ideally as Night Manager or similar.
• Strong knowledge of Opera PMS and hotel systems advantageous.
• Good computer skills, including Excel and general system use.
• Strong attention to detail, especially with financial reconciliation.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions during overnight shifts.
• Good time management and ability to multitask.
• Flexible with overnight shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Physically capable of completing light cleaning and porter duties; reliable, responsible, and security aware.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all hotel operations at night as the manager on duty.
• Manage night audit, including financial reconciliation and reporting.
• Handle front desk operations, including check-ins/check-outs and guest requests.
• Ensure accuracy of postings, room rates, and accounts in Opera.
• Conduct security walks and ensure guest, staff and property safety.
• Assist with guest needs and late arrivals; support housekeeping tasks.
• Prepare reports and ensure smooth handover to the morning team.
• Collaborate with departments to address discrepancies.
• Support front desk with admin tasks as needed.
