Job summary

Scenic Hotel Group – Queenstown, South Island is seeking a dedicated Night Manager to oversee hotel operations during the night shift. Lead front desk activities, handle guest inquiries, and ensure security and accurate night audits.

Requires 2+ years in Front Office, LCQ qualification and/or Managers Certificate, First Aid; NZ Driver's Licence preferred. 40 hours weekly on a rotating roster, 11:00pm–7:30am, weekends included, based in Queenstown.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years Front Office experience.
• LCQ qualification preferred.
• Managers Certificate and First Aid are advantageous.
• Valid NZ Driver's Licence required.
• Ability to lead night operations calmly and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Oversee night shifts, greet guests arriving late and assist with luggage.
• Handle guest inquiries, requests and complaints promptly.
• Oversee hotel security and report incidents to Management.
• Perform night audit and reconcile Front Office and F&B transactions.
• Communicate important information to the day team at shift end.
• Prepare Front Office for morning shift and tidy reception/areas.

Are you a night owl with a passion for hospitality and a knack for leadership? Look no further! Scenic Suites & Heartland Hotel Queenstown is seeking a dedicated Night Manager to oversee our operations during the night-time hours.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Oversight of night shifts, including meeting and greeting guests arriving late, assisting with guest luggage, security, and administrative tasks.
• Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Oversight of security of the hotel property, and reporting any incidents or concerns to Management.
• Perform night audit and reconcile transactions from the Front Office and Food & Beverage departments. Locate and correct any discrepancies.
• Communicating important information to the day team at the end of your shift
• Prepare Front Office for the morning shift, and clean the reception and public areas, emptying office bins.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• 2 years relevant experience in a Front Office environment.
• An LCQ qualification, current Managers Certificate, and a current First Aid certificate would be advantageous.
• A full NZ Drivers License.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
