We are seeking an experienced and commercially astuteNational Fleet Manager to lead the operational management, performance,compliance and optimisation of our national fleet.
Reporting to the General Manager Fleet & NetworkOptimisation, this is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring our fleetremains safe, compliant, reliable and cost-effective while supporting customerservice, cold chain integrity and operational excellence.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leadingthe management and optimisation of Halls' national fleet, includingtrucks, trailers, refrigeration units and associated assets.
- Developingfleet lifecycle strategies, replacement programmes and capital investmentplans to maximise asset performance.
- Drivingpreventative maintenance programmes and improving fleet reliability,availability and uptime.
- Ensuringcompliance with all relevant transport regulations, safety requirements,certifications and fleet governance standards.
- Managingfleet operating budgets, maintenance expenditure, fuel performance andtyre strategies to deliver cost efficiencies.
- Overseeingfleet systems, telematics and reporting platforms to provide meaningfulinsights and support operational decision-making.
- Buildingstrong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, maintenance providersand internal stakeholders to deliver high service standards.
- Leadingand developing the fleet team while identifying opportunities forcontinuous improvement across the national network.
What We're Looking For
- 7+year’s experience in heavy vehicle fleet management, transport fleetoperations, or commercial fleet maintenance environments.
- Provenleadership experience managing people, suppliers and operationalstakeholders across multiple sites.
- Strongunderstanding of New Zealand transport compliance requirements, includingvehicle maintenance, COF, RUC, permits and fleet safety.
- Demonstratedexperience in asset lifecycle management, budgeting, supplier managementand fleet performance improvement.
- Stronganalytical and systems capability, including fleet management software,telematics and reporting tools.
- Abilityto balance operational demands with strategic planning, commercialoutcomes and compliance obligations.
- Provenhands-on fleet leadership experience.
- Experiencemanaging fleets exceeding 100 heavy vehicles – advantageous
- Relevantqualification in transport management, engineering, mechanical trades,fleet management or a related discipline – advantageous
- Experiencewithin refrigerated transport, cold chain logistics, FMCG environments orlarge-scale transport operations - highly advantageous.
