About Us
Smart Mobile Limited operates a growing network of retail and service stores across New Zealand, including multiple locations in Waikato region. This Store Manager role is urgently required for Taupo area where the company manages four retail stores at present and urgently requires a Store Manager to manage the operational needs for these stores. We specialise in mobile phones, laptops, computers, tablets, accessories, and professional repair services. To support our continued growth, we are seeking a motivated Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Taupo store.

The Role
This is a full-time, permanent position requiring flexibility to work on a 7‑day roster. The Store Manager will be responsible for ensuring smooth store operations, supervising staff, maintaining stock, and achieving financial and customer service targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day store operations to ensure efficiency and compliance
  • Determine stock and customer service standards
  • Plan and implement purchasing, marketing, and promotional strategies
  • Manage inventory, merchandising, and stock control processes
  • Monitor financial performance, prepare budgets, and implement cost controls
  • Recruit, train, roster, and supervise staff to deliver excellent customer service

Skills & Experience

  • A Level 5 diploma or higher in a relevant field, or at least two years of relevant work experience
  • Strong knowledge of retail operations, inventory control, and budgeting is preferred.

  • Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and varied shifts

Cobb & Co Taupo, established in 1973, is looking for a hospitality professional to take orders/requests from customers and ensure that a high and correct standard of service is delivered. The role reports to the Shift Manager and Restaurant Manager and is responsible for the Runners.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Customer Service : Ensure guests receive prompt, friendly, and efficient table service while maintaining clear knowledge of the Cobb & Co. menu offerings .
  • Billing & Cashiering : Ensure customer bills are processed accurately and settled in full .
  • Complaint Handling : Resolve guest queries and complaints within personal authority before escalating to the Shift Manager .
  • Restaurant Operations : Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness for equipment, crockery, cutlery, dining areas, bar, and amenities .
  • Compliance & Safety : Follow health, safety, and hygiene regulations (including Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 standards) and report hazards or incidents promptly via Jolt .
  • Team Participation : Attend service meetings, complete ongoing training, and maintain flexibility to work late‑night or extra shifts as required by management .

Candidate Requirements & Competencies

  • At least 1 year of relevant hospitality experience
  • Barista skills and wine knowledge
  • Familiarity with point‑of‑sale/ordering systems

  • Strong team player with a positive, friendly attitude .
  • Highly organised and able to work competently under pressure in a busy environment .

30 guaranteed hours per week.
