Job summary

Cobb & Co Taupo is seeking a hospitality professional to take orders and requests from guests, delivering high-standard service. The role reports to the Shift Manager and Restaurant Manager, with responsibility for runners and overall restaurant operations.

Key duties include cashing up, handling complaints, maintaining hygiene, and complying with safety regulations. A minimum of 1 year in hospitality is required, with barista skills and wine knowledge highly valued.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Take orders/requests from guests and ensure prompt, friendly service.
• Ensure bills are processed accurately and settled.
• Resolve guest queries and complaints within your authority.
• Maintain high hygiene and cleanliness of dining areas, equipment, and bar.
• Follow health, safety, and hygiene regulations and report hazards.
• Attend service meetings and be flexible for late-night or extra shifts.

Cobb & Co Taupo, established in 1973, is looking for a hospitality professional to take orders/requests from customers and ensure that a high and correct standard of service is delivered. The role reports to the Shift Manager and Restaurant Manager and is responsible for the Runners.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Customer Service : Ensure guests receive prompt, friendly, and efficient table service while maintaining clear knowledge of the Cobb & Co. menu offerings .

• Billing & Cashiering : Ensure customer bills are processed accurately and settled in full .

• Complaint Handling : Resolve guest queries and complaints within personal authority before escalating to the Shift Manager .

• Restaurant Operations : Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness for equipment, crockery, cutlery, dining areas, bar, and amenities .

• Compliance & Safety : Follow health, safety, and hygiene regulations (including Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 standards) and report hazards or incidents promptly via Jolt .

• Team Participation : Attend service meetings, complete ongoing training, and maintain flexibility to work late-night or extra shifts as required by management .

Candidate Requirements & Competencies

• At least 1 year of relevant hospitality experience
• Barista skills and wine knowledge
• Familiarity with point-of-sale/ordering systems
