Job summary

Cobb & Co Taupo is seeking a hospitality professional to take orders and ensure a high standard of service in a busy restaurant setting.

Reporting to the Shift Manager and Restaurant Manager, you will handle guest requests, manage billing accurately, resolve queries, maintain hygiene standards, and support team meetings. The role involves flexible hours with 30 guaranteed hours per week.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of relevant hospitality experience.
• Barista skills and wine knowledge.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale/ordering systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly table service and menu knowledge.
• Process customer bills accurately and settle payments.
• Resolve guest queries and complaints within authority.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness for dining areas and equipment.
• Follow health, safety regulations and report hazards promptly.
• Attend service meetings and training; flexibility to work late shifts as needed.

Cobb & Co Taupo, established in 1973, is looking for a hospitality professional to take orders/requests from customers and ensure that a high and correct standard of service is delivered. The role reports to the Shift Manager and Restaurant Manager and is responsible for the Runners.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Customer Service : Ensure guests receive prompt, friendly, and efficient table service while maintaining clear knowledge of the Cobb & Co. menu offerings .

• Billing & Cashiering : Ensure customer bills are processed accurately and settled in full .

• Complaint Handling : Resolve guest queries and complaints within personal authority before escalating to the Shift Manager .

• Restaurant Operations : Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness for equipment, crockery, cutlery, dining areas, bar, and amenities .

• Compliance & Safety : Follow health, safety, and hygiene regulations (including Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 standards) and report hazards or incidents promptly via Jolt .

• Team Participation : Attend service meetings, complete ongoing training, and maintain flexibility to work late-night or extra shifts as required by management .

Candidate Requirements & Competencies
