Job summary

Tararua Medical Centre in Levin is seeking a friendly, organised Medical Administrator/Receptionist to be the first point of contact for patients and whānau, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience while supporting day-to-day operations in a busy general practice.

The role includes greeting patients, handling calls, scheduling appointments, managing records, processing payments and routine administrative tasks, with training available for Indici.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in medical administration, reception or a similar healthcare environment.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • A warm, approachable and professional manner.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
  • Confidence using computer systems and standard office applications.
  • Experience using a patient management system, preferably Indici, although training can be provided.
  • A reliable and flexible approach to work.
  • An understanding of the importance of patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • A commitment to providing respectful and culturally appropriate service to our diverse community.

Job description

Tararua Medical Centre is looking for a friendly, organised and experienced Medical Administrator/Receptionist to join our growing team. As one of the first points of contact for our patients and whānau, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming and positive experience while helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of our busy medical practice. This is a varied and rewarding role, ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, is highly organised and can remain calm and professional in a busy environment.
