Job summary

Tui Ora is seeking an Administration Assistant/Receptionist to streamline front-of-house and administrative support for clinical services in Whaitara, with occasional Ngāmotu visits.

You will be the welcoming first contact for patients and visitors, ensuring accurate records and smooth workflows while applying whānau-centred, culturally safe practices.

Qualifications

  • Current first aid certificate (preferred)
  • Full, clean New Zealand Driver Licence
  • Previous administration and reception experience, preferably in a General Practice or Healthcare setting
  • Proficiency with electronic Patient Management Systems (e.g., Indici) is advantageous
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Previous general office accounting experience (preferred)
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • High level of integrity, reliability and self-management; ability to manage confidential information with discretion
  • Understanding of Tikanga Māori and its practical application in a health setting
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and awareness of the needs of Māori communities

Mō te tūranga | About the role

As the Administration Assistant/Receptionist, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth coordination of reception and administrative functions that support the effective delivery of clinical services. You will be the first point of contact, creating a welcoming and responsive front-of-house experience for patients, whānau, and visitors.

This role is central to maintaining accurate and efficient administrative processes, while supporting the day-to-day flow of operations. Success in this position is reflected in your ability to provide a high standard of service, ensure administrative accuracy, and consistently apply culturally safe, whānau-centred practices in all interactions and tasks.
