Job summary

Windcave seeks a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to design and develop payment terminals and embedded electronic products used by merchants worldwide. You will own designs from concept to manufacture, ensuring reliability and security per PCI PTS standards.

The role requires 5+ years in R&D and strong SolidWorks skills, with collaboration across hardware, software, test and manufacturing teams. You must have the right to work in New Zealand and be prepared to contribute to a growing, global product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• Excellent communication and collaboration in cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to work across all levels from drawing maintenance to product leadership.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to design mechanical components for complex electronics with good problem-solving.
• Experience taking products through regulatory standards with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for electronics and consumer products.
• Own design from concept through to manufacture while supporting engineering teams.
• Ensure designs meet reliability and security requirements and are auditable by labs.
• Create and maintain specification drawings, BOMs, and installation documents.
• Collaborate with Hardware, Software, Test and Manufacturing teams.
