Job summary

PayPlus in Auckland is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, and enhance its payment software and integrations across EFTPOS, POS, vending machines, and online platforms.

You will own the software lifecycle from analysis to deployment, ensuring secure, scalable systems and reliable payment processing, while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

The role requires a strong background in APIs, system integration and modern development practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS or related field.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with APIs, web services and third-party integrations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modify and maintain PayPlus software applications and payment integrations.
• Develop and maintain integrations with EFTPOS terminals, POS systems, vending machines, and merchant platforms.
• Ensure software security, reliability, scalability and maintainability.
• Prepare technical documentation and collaborate with stakeholders across teams.
