Job summary

PayPlus is a New Zealand payment technology company seeking an experienced Software Engineer in Auckland to design, develop and maintain payment software and integrations with EFTPOS, POS, vending, booking platforms and gateways.

You will work on secure, scalable systems, drive API design, and collaborate with merchants and technology partners to deliver reliable payment solutions across NZ and Australia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or closely related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with APIs, web services and third-party system integrations.
• Strong software design, application development and system integration capabilities.
• Understanding of secure software development principles and data security.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and translate them into technical specifications and designs.
• Develop, modify and maintain software applications and payment integrations.
• Build and maintain APIs, web services and integration with external providers.
• Plan, execute and maintain testing: functional, integration and system tests.
• Maintain deployment procedures and automate CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor, optimise and secure payment software and data flows.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver payment solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation and provide stakeholder technical input.
• Support production systems and troubleshoot complex integration issues.
