Job summary

PayPlus is a New Zealand payment technology company serving businesses across New Zealand and Australia. We seek an experienced Software Engineer in Auckland to design, develop, integrate and improve our software applications and payment systems.

The role focuses on secure, scalable software supporting payment processing and integrations with EFTPOS terminals, POS platforms, vending machines and online gateways. You will ensure reliability and maintainability of our platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or closely related discipline.
• At least 10 years of relevant professional software development/engineering experience.
• Experience with APIs, web services and third‑party system integrations.
• Strong programming and software development capability.
• Knowledge of secure software development principles and data security.

Responsibilities

• Design software architecture, components, interfaces and data structures.
• Develop and maintain software applications and payment integrations.
• Build APIs and web services for payment processing and third‑party systems.
• Implement secure authentication and encryption.
• Perform testing, debugging and production fault diagnosis.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver payment products.
