Job summary

Auckland Council is seeking a Team Leader Project Assessment for the Building Consent Processing Team in Auckland. The role leads the regional team, guiding complex building consent decisions and driving customer-focused service delivery.

You will coach staff, optimise processing workflows, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while fostering a high-performing team in a flexible hybrid setup at the Albany Hub.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in a building regulatory or similar environment.
• Proven ability to lead or supervise a large team.
• Extensive experience in building consents processing.
• Strong knowledge of policies and local government legislation.
• Excellent negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of building consent processing to ensure policy adherence.
• Coach, mentor and motivate team members to deliver high-quality services.
