Auckland Council seeks an experienced Competency/Technical Assessor to elevate Building Consents capability. You will assess staff against NCAS, conduct audits, and mentor staff within the Assessment Team.

The role blends regulatory expertise with people development and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Team Leader - Assessment within the Capability Unit, you will drive quality and consistency, develop training plans, and support accreditation requirements while advising on policy and

Qualifications

Experience training, coaching and developing staff in Building Consents technical functions.
Strong analytical skills with ability to carry out technical audits to prescribed standards.
Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
Knowledge of the NZ Building Code and Building Act is essential.

Responsabilités

Perform technical assessments of staff against the NCAS under Building Regs. 10 & 11.
Conduct technical audits under Building Reg. 17.
Analyse audit and competency outcomes to identify training needs and develop plans.
Collaborate with operational teams to develop and deliver training ensuring compliance with BCA accreditation and the Building Act.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in accreditation activities.
