Job summary

Novotel Queenstown Lakeside is seeking an experienced Assistant Maintenance Manager to support the Engineering and Maintenance function. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you’ll keep the 273-room hotel running smoothly through preventative maintenance, repairs and contractor oversight.

Bring strong technical leadership, hands-on hospitality spirit and a proactive approach in a fast-paced environment where your impact will be felt across the property.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in hotel maintenance or related environment.
• Experience supervising maintenance staff or contractors.
• Strong knowledge of building maintenance disciplines and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day management of hotel maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, kitchens and facilities.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance, repairs and contractor activities.
• Respond to maintenance requests, prioritise work and ensure timely, safe repairs.
• Support CAPEX projects and supervise contractors and suppliers.
• Help with budgeting, purchasing and cost control.
• Promote safe work practices and maintain compliance documentation.
