Job summary

Bupa Sunset Care Home in Blockhouse Bay, Auckland, is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support daily kitchen operations, prepare and bake meals from established recipes, and help deliver meals with high presentation standards.

This permanent part-time role (average 10 hours per week) offers a 3:00pm–8:00pm schedule, the chance to work both independently and as part of a busy kitchen team, and a strong emphasis on hygiene, safety, and resident care.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in a similar role preferred; full training provided.
• Experience following established recipes and preparing food to a high standard.
• Proactive team player who can work independently and help where needed.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality presentation.
• Excellent time management and communication skills; follow instructions accurately.
• Empathetic and passionate about making a positive difference for residents.
• Available to work rotating rostered shifts, including weekends.
• Reliable transport and travel arrangements.

• Roster Pattern: 2 Days On, 4 days off Roster Period over 6 weeks (Monday-Sunday)
