Job summary

Bupa Merrivale Care Home in Te Kamo, Whangārei, is seeking a casual Kitchen Assistant to support day-to-day kitchen operations, following recipes, and ensuring high standards of presentation for residents.

You will work both independently and as part of a busy team, upholding hygiene, safety, and confidentiality while contributing to a positive dining experience for residents.

Qualifications

• Preferably 1 year experience in a similar role, but full training and development will be provided.
• Experience following established recipes and preparing food to a high standard.
• Be a proactive team player who can work independently and pitch in where needed.
• Possess strong attention to detail and commitment to quality presentation.
• Excellent time management & communication skills, following instruction accurately.
• Empathetic, enthusiastic, and passionate about making a positive difference for residents.
• Available to work rotating rostered shifts, including weekends.

Bupa Merrivale Care Home is located in Te Kamo, Whangārei, in a peaceful setting surrounded by landscaped gardens and close to Kamo Village.The home provides rest home and hospital-level care.
