Job summary

Bupa Ballarat Care Home in Rangiora is seeking a Cook for a casual role. You will adhere to food hygiene and safety standards while preparing meals for residents and supporting kitchen operations on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities include menu planning, cooking, event catering, and managing supplies. We welcome applicants legally eligible to work in New Zealand with a proactive, flexible attitude and reliable transport.

Qualifications

• Qualified Cook/Chef with NZQA-recognised culinary qualification.
• At least 1 year of cooking experience.
• Legally eligible to work in New Zealand.

Bupa Ballarat Care Home is located on the western edge of Rangiora,just north of Christchurch. It provides rest home, hospital, and dementia care within a modern, purpose-built environment.

As a Cook, while adhering to food Hygiene and Safety you will make an impact on:

• Menu planning and implementation
• Food preparation
• Special event catering
• Ordering and monitoring supplies

What you’ll needto make it possible

• Qualified Cook/Chef with an NZQA-recognised culinary qualification (or equivalent) and at least 1 year of cooking experience
• Hands-on, proactive attitude with the flexibility to support all aspects of kitchen operations when needed
• Dedicated to delivering high-quality meals for our aged care residents
• Ensure resident confidentiality
• Reliable transport/ ability to travel to and from the workplace consistently
• Applicants must be legally eligible to work in New Zealand.
