Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A relevant tertiary qualification or certificate in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Commerce is a significant advantage.
• Zero to two years of experience in a purchasing, procurement, or administrative role.
• Strong interest in procurement and supply chain management.
• Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes and systems.
• Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Familiarity with ERP systems is a bonus.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the processing of purchase requisitions and the creation of purchase orders.
• Communicate with suppliers to track order status, confirm delivery dates, and resolve minor queries.
• Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices.
• Support senior buyers in sourcing activities and obtaining quotations from vendors.
• Liaise with internal departments to ensure procurement requirements are met efficiently.
• Help manage inventory levels by providing data on incoming goods.
• Ensure adherence to company procurement procedures and guidelines.
• Assist with basic data analysis and reporting on purchasing activities.
• Learn and apply best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
• Undertake other administrative tasks as assigned by the procurement manager.
