Job summary

Tararua District Council is seeking an IT Systems Support professional to provide technical assistance to staff and maintain system security. The role focuses on diagnosing hardware, software and network issues, applying patches and supporting user access and backups.

Practical knowledge of desktop systems, business apps, hardware and basic networking.
Ability to diagnose issues, resolve faults and upscale when needed.
Clear communication and patient customer-focused support for users with varying tech abilities.

Responsibilities

Provide timely, customer-focused technology support to Council employees.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network issues; escalate when needed.
Install, configure and maintain peripherals and network devices per Council standards.
Perform endpoint upgrades, updates and security patches to ensure reliability and security.
Record, prioritise and manage incidents and service requests in the service system.
