Job summary

The Waimakariri District Council is seeking an IT Service Desk Engineer on a full-time basis at our service centre in Rangiora, North Canterbury. You will be a trusted advisor in all stages of service desk and learn as you go in a forward-thinking ICT team.

Key requirements include 1+ years in IT service desk, hardware support, Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 knowledge, and remote support experience; strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience in IT service desk/helpdesk support.
• Hardware support for desktop, laptop and Android devices.
• Understanding of Windows 11 and Microsoft 365.
• Basic networking principles and troubleshooting.
• Remote support of staff and councillors.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT service desk support to staff and councillors.
• Triaging and resolving user issues in a timely manner.
• Conduct remote support sessions and on-site visits as needed.
• Collaborate with ICT team to implement digital solutions.
