Asym Design in Rangiora, North Canterbury, is seeking an experienced Intermediate Architectural Technician to join our growing residential team. You’ll produce working drawings and building consent documentation using Archicad, and ensure compliance with the NZ Building Code.

Asym Design is looking for an experienced Intermediate Architectural Technician to join our growing team in Rangiora.
We’re after someone with solid residential experience who is already comfortable producing working drawings and building consent documentation, understands the NZ Building Code, and knows their way around Archicad.
The role will be mainly focused on residential projects, including new homes, renovations and extensions. You’ll work across projects from developed design through to consent, helping turn good design into clear, practical and buildable documentation.
We’re a small team, so we’re looking for someone who enjoys being involved in the whole project rather than just one small part of it.

We like to keep things practical and down to earth. Good design is important to us, but so is making sure what we draw can actually be built, gets through council smoothly and works for the client.

As an Intermediate Architectural Technician, you’ll be involved across a range of residential projects including:
Your main focus will be taking projects through developed design, working drawings and building consent documentation.
You’ll also have the opportunity to provide input into detailing and construction solutions, work closely with consultants and builders, and help peer review smaller projects within the office.
We’re looking for someone who already has a good grounding in residential documentation and can step into the role with confidence.
