Job summary

Archoffice is a dynamic NZ architectural practice based in Auckland, offering a flexible four-days-in-office, one-day-from-home arrangement. We seek an Architectural Graduate or Technician with 2+ years’ NZ experience to contribute to commercial, residential, institutional and hospitality projects.

You will work with senior architects, gain mentorship, and benefit from a structured path toward registration.

Qualifications

• Two or more years’ experience in a NZ architectural practice.
• Proficiency in ArchiCAD, MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Lumion experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of NZ Building Code and NZ Standards.
• Current NZ driver license and vehicle access.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Understanding of sustainable design principles.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams to develop design concepts and practical architectural solutions.
• Prepare architectural drawings, documentation, renderings, reports and presentations.
• Undertake research into materials, building codes, regulations and relevant design requirements.
• Assist with the coordination of projects and consultants across various project stages.
• Participate in site visits, client meetings and project discussions.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative and creative studio environment.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented Architectural Graduate or Architectural Technician, preferably with two or more years’ experience, to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors, from commercial and residential to institutional and hospitality. You will work closely with our experienced architects, gaining valuable experience and mentorship while bringing fresh perspectives and ideas to our projects.

We value professional development and support our staff in progressing their careers. With our Company Director actively involved with both NZIA and NZRAB, we can provide a supportive pathway towards professional registration for those working towards becoming a registered architect.

Our normal working arrangement is four days in the office and one day working from home, providing a balance of collaboration, connection and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with project teams to develop design concepts and practical architectural solutions.

Prepare and develop architectural drawings, documentation, renderings, reports and presentations.

Undertake research into materials, products, building codes, regulations and relevant design requirements.

Assist with the coordination of projects and consultants across various project stages.

Participate in site visits, client meetings and project discussions.

Skills & Experience:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, or Diploma in Architectural Technology.

Two or more years’ experience working in a New Zealand architectural practice is preferred.

Proficiency in ArchiCAD, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.

Experience with Lumion is an advantage.

Working knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code and relevant NZ Standards.

Strong design, documentation and visualization skills.

Excellent communication, organization and teamwork abilities.

An understanding of sustainable design principles and their application to projects is an advantage.

Current New Zealand driver license and access to a vehicle for travel to project sites, client meetings and inspections.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
