Job summary

Asym Design in Rangiora, North Canterbury, is seeking an experienced Intermediate Architectural Technician to join our growing residential team. You’ll produce working drawings and building consent documentation using Archicad, and ensure compliance with the NZ Building Code.

This hands-on role covers developed design through consent, with peer review of smaller projects, coordination with engineers, and a collaborative, small-team environment.

Qualifications

• NZ residential drafting experience is required.
• Solid Archicad experience is essential.
• Knowledge of the NZ Building Code and E2/AS1 is required.
• Experience producing building consent documentation.
• Ability to peer review smaller residential projects.

Responsibilities

• Produce residential working drawings and building consent documentation in Archicad.
• Develop clear, accurate and buildable construction details.
• Coordinate documentation with engineers, truss designers and other consultants.
• Work through council RFIs and consent requirements.
• Manage your own projects through the documentation stages.
• Peer review smaller residential projects and identify potential issues.
• Maintain drawing quality and consistency across projects.
• Collaborate with the team to keep projects moving.
