Job summary

Apprenticeships Training Trust NZ (ATT) in Ashburton invites motivated individuals to start an electrical/apprentice path with hands-on training in the HVAC trades. You’ll learn by doing, with a regular wage while you train and guidance from skilled tradespeople.

As you hit milestones you’ll see pay increases and you’ll receive essential PPE gear and a tool kit on day one. A driver’s licence and reliable transport help you get to site across Mid and South Canterbury.

Qualifications

• Must be punctual, dependable and consistently on time.
• Hands-on with tools and comfortable using them.
• Solid math skills (NCEA Level 2) and physics studies preferred.
• Some prior job experience in labouring or casual roles is desirable.
• NZ citizen or permanent resident with a valid NZ driver’s licence.

What You’ll Need:

• You are punctual, dependable, and show up on time every time.
• You are good with your hands and comfortable using tools.
• A strong insight into the electrical trade, backed by solid math skills (at least NCEA Level 2) and preferably some physics studies.
• Some prior job experience, whether that’s labouring, holiday work, or casual jobs.
• A current Restricted or Full New Zealand driver’s licence and reliable transport to get to work.
• A clean criminal record and the ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
• Must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.

Note: Completed electrical pre-trade courses or an Electrical Gateway school placement are highly regarded, but not mandatory.
