Job summary

The Ministry of Education in Wellington is seeking an exceptional Team Leader to lead the MyHR Services team and deliver high-quality HR advice and administrative support to managers across the Ministry.

You will coach and develop staff, drive process improvements, monitor service metrics, and partner with stakeholders to implement People Capability initiatives while aligning with Public Service standards.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in a customer-focused environment
• Experience managing an operational service with performance measures
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills and commitment to staff development
• Track record of leading change and continuous improvement initiatives
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with stakeholder relationship ability
• Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct knowledge or willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a HR services team with a dual focus on process improvement and staff development
• Oversee quality assurance to ensure accurate and customer-focused responses
• Drive continuous improvement of HR processes and workflows
• Use data and service metrics to identify trends and inform decisions
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support organisation-wide People Capability initiatives
