Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented HR Officer specializing in Compliance and Policy for a full-time on-site role in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. The candidate will drive legislative compliance, policy development, and HR audits within a retail-focused organization.

The role requires deep SA labor law knowledge, audit experience, and the ability to advise management on policy interpretation while maintaining accurate records and supporting investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HRM, Law, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in HR with emphasis on compliance and labor law.
• Deep knowledge of SA labor legislation and employment equity principles.
• Experience conducting HR audits and managing compliance programs.
• Strong analytical, communication, and detail orientation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with SA labor laws (BCEA, LRA, EEA, SDA).
• Develop, review, and update HR policies to meet legal requirements.
• Conduct regular HR audits and report findings.
• Implement new HR policies and communicate changes.
• Advise on policy interpretation for management and staff.
• Assist in CCMA preparations and labor dispute support.
• Support investigations into misconduct and policy violations.
• Maintain records of compliance activities and documents.
• Contribute to compliance training programs.
• Stay updated on changes in labor legislation.
