Job summary

Addington Hostel in Christchurch is seeking 6 Caseworkers to provide case management and one-on-one support to men, within a 40-hour, permanent full-time role on a rotating 2-week schedule that includes some evenings and weekends. You will prepare case notes and plans to guide residents and collaborate with Support Workers, especially on weekends and evenings.

• NZ degree qualification in Social work, Addictions, Counselling, Nursing, Allied health (or approved equivalent).
• NZ registration with NZAC, SWRB, Dapaanz, Nursing Council (or eligible within 3 months).
• At least 2 years of work experience in Housing, Mental health, Addictions, Corrections or similar.
• Comfortable working within an all-male hostel.
• Able to work the hours and days outlined (2-week rotating roster).
• Full NZ driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Caseload of 1:1 support with the men.
• Provide Case notes and Case plans to support the men’s journey through the service.
• Work alongside and help the Support Workers on weekends and evenings.
• Fill in for Shift lead if needed.
• Help provide a safe workplace across the shift.

• Full time role within a rotating 2 week roster involving some evenings and weekends. Tuesday to Saturday each week
• Week 1: 9am-5.30pm Week 2 : 12.30pm -9pm

About the Business:

Addington Hostel has been providing housing for men for 130 years in Addington, Christchurch. It is a 88 bed hostel based service with 24 hour staffing made up of Caseworkers, Support workers, Nurses, Counsellors, Addiction staff, property and finance team. The men may have had prior involvement with Mental health, Addictions or Correctison services and now find themselves homeless and in need of a safe place to live for around 3 months

About the Role:

We have 6 Caseworkers who are a key part of the Addington team. There are Caseworkers working across the week and into most evenings. They are generally registered staff in either Social work or Addictions but can come from a range of other allied health areas as well.

This role is permanent full time and hours worked will be 40 hours per week across a 2 week rotating roster which will include some evenings and weekend days.

The starting salary for this role will fall on the Social Workers pay equity scale and be dependent upon relevant experience and qualifications. The salary range for this role will fall between $68,037.77 to $102,000 per annum.
