Job summary

Downer in Waipawa is seeking an experienced Class 5 Driver Operator to transport plant and equipment and support a busy pavement maintenance crew.

You will operate loaders, excavators, rollers and other heavy machinery, follow project plans, and stay safety-focused while assisting with road maintenance and renewals across the region.

Qualifications

• Full Class 5 Driver Licence required.
• Current W, T & R Endorsements (Wheels, Tracks & Rollers) required.
• Experience transporting plant and equipment on a transporter.
• Proven experience operating heavy machinery within civil or road maintenance.
• Experience working as an active member of a pavement crew.
• Strong focus on Safety and Quality.
• Good planning skills and problem solving.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• High level of physical fitness for manual tasks.
• Positive, can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Transport plant and equipment and support pavement maintenance crews.
• Safely operate loaders, excavators, rollers and other heavy machinery.
• Assist with road maintenance and construction activities.
• Contribute to safe, quality project delivery and teamwork.
• Get home safely at the end of each day.
