Job summary

Downer Group is seeking an Asphalt Loader Operator in Hamilton. You will join a dedicated crew providing operational support on asphalt maintenance jobs, ensuring plants and loaders are presented, serviced and operated safely to meet quality targets.

Role requires a Full NZ Driver's Licence with WTR endorsements (advantageous), experience in civil plant operations, and strong safety and teamwork mindset. Overtime and weekend shifts may occur.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full Class 1 NZ Driver's Licence with WTR endorsements.
• Experience with civil plant operations: asphalt plant, bitumen plant and wheeled loaders.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for diverse teams.
• Commitment to high standards of Health & Safety.
• Able to learn and use computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support asphalt and bitumen plants and wheel loaders.
• Ensure equipment is presented, serviced, maintained and operated safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with Downer and contracting crews to meet productivity targets.
• Follow all relevant legislation, regulations and policies.
• Be prepared for overtime or weekend shifts.

We are seeking an Asphalt Loader Operator to join our team in Hamilton. In this role, you’ll be be part of a dedicated crew who provide operational support on our Asphalt maintenance jobs. You will be responsible for ensuring that asphalt plants, bitumen plants and loaders are presented, serviced, maintained and operated in a professional, safe and efficient manner that complies with all relevant legislation, regulation and policy and achieves agreed productivity and quality targets.

1. This is a full-time, permanent position that will require overtime or weekend shifts occasionally.
