Job summary

Downer is seeking a Paving Crew Member for our Penrose-based team, supporting ongoing assignments across the Auckland region. You will help with surfacing roads and carparks, and pave footpaths, with opportunities to learn to operate a range of paving plant on site.

Applicants should enjoy outdoor work, have asphalt experience with roller operators, and be reliable, safety-focused, and capable of working in a team across outdoor sites around Auckland.

Qualifications

• Enjoy outdoor work and stay physically fit.
• Experience in asphalt, especially with roller operators (a must).
• Reliable and hard-working with a positive attitude.
• Commitment to safe work practices.
• Class 2 license with WTR endorsement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of paving activities from road/carpark surfacing to footpath paving.
• Learn to operate plant on sites.
• Assist with labouring duties when required.
• Work outdoors on sites across the Auckland region.

Joining our Transport and Infrastructure business, as a Paving Crew Member, you’ll support our Penrose-based crew in the delivery of exciting ongoing assignments across the Auckland region.

You will be tasked with undertaking a range of Paving activities from surfacing roads and carparks, to paving footpaths. You will be given the opportunity to learn to operate a range of plant on our sites and be expected to pick up labouring duties when required.

If you are physically fit and enjoy spending your days outdoors and, on your feet, this could be the position for you.

Important Skills | Nga pūkenga matua

Required

• Enjoy working outdoors and keeping physically fit
• Have experience in asphalt, particularly with Roller Operators (a must)
• Be reliable and hard working
• Have a positive 'can do' attitude
• Show commitment to safe work practises
• Have a Class 2 license with WTR endorsement (preferable)
