Job summary

Radius Care, a New Zealand owned health and aged care provider, is seeking Casual Health Care Assistants in Christchurch. You will support residents under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, helping with daily living, mobility and dignity.

We offer training, uniform, and career progression through Careerforce and NZQA qualifications. Flexible rosters include weekends and public holidays; a supportive team and good staff‑to‑resident ratio ensure quality care.

Qualifications

• New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, and experience are desirable.
• People skills + empathy for our residents and their families.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility to work rostered shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking personal cares, while encouraging residents to make decisions that promote independence
• Promptly completing delegated tasks in a timely manner
• Responding quickly to resident requests, providing them with useful, relevant information
• Maintaining and updating resident healthcare records
• Assisting with handover of residents at shift changes

Casual, as and when required

Note: Radius Care cannot support work visas/visa changes for casual HCAs. Visa-holders must have a current visa with open work rights and preferably at least 6 months left until expiry.

About the role

Provide exceptional care to our residents under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families. Work closely with a team to implement our individual care plans. Full training provided.

Duties include

• Undertaking personal cares, while encouraging residents to make decisions that promote independence
• Promptly completing delegated tasks in a timely manner
• Responding quickly to resident requests, providing them with useful, relevant information
• Maintaining and updating resident healthcare records
• Assisting with handover of residents at shift changes
