Job summary

Assess HR is seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager in Auckland to lead customer acquisition and growth across our service offerings. You will build strong relationships, identify new opportunities, and drive commercial results while coordinating with the Customer Success team to ensure client satisfaction.

You will own the sales cycle from initial contact through negotiation and close, maintain CRM accuracy, and leverage existing relationships for referrals.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in sales within high-performing teams.
• Experience in MSP sector and full sales cycle—from lead generation to close.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and building trusted relationships.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted, long-term relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
• Contribute actively to the Customer Success Team, sharing insights and supporting collective success.
• Develop a strong understanding of the company's services and identify opportunities to help customers work smarter.
• Engage in lead-generation activities, including networking events and industry forums, and convert new opportunities into business.
• Manage the full sales cycle—from initial conversations to negotiation and close—while maintaining accurate CRM records.
• Follow up on inbound leads and respond promptly to new enquiries.
• Leverage existing customer relationships to generate referrals and expand footprint.
• Prepare and negotiate sales proposals using approved systems and standards.
• Support and motivate colleagues within the Customer Success Team to achieve shared goals.
