Job summary

OceanaGold offers a paid internship at the Waihi operation for students pursuing a BSc in Geology or Earth Sciences. You will join the Resource Development - Exploration & Geology team and work on-site from mid-November to mid-February.

Hours are 7:00am to 4:30pm on a 9-day fortnight (40.5 hours per week). You will gain practical geology and mining experience, assist with core logging, sampling, data management, and present your learnings to the Site Management Team at the internship conclusion.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a BSc with geology or earth sciences major.
• Strong academic performance and interest in mining.
• NZ working rights and a valid driving licence are required.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Gain practical experience on geology projects assigned by managers.
• Collaborate with interns and learn mining processes.
• Present findings to Site Management at internship end.
• Assist with core logging, sampling, and data entry tasks.
• Support QA/QC and database validation activities.
• Deliver a final presentation on learnings.
