Job summary

OceanaGold invites motivated students studying towards a Diploma or Bachelor of Surveying to join the Waihi operation as a paid internship. You will work with the Survey team on-site, gaining practical experience on diverse projects between mid-November and mid-February, with 7:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, 10-hour shifts.

Placement within the Survey team will cover field and office tasks, surface and underground work, and hands-on use of surveying equipment.

Qualifications

• Accommodation options at Waihi or surrounding areas (desirable).
• Full Class 1 driver's license; manual preferred.
• Unrestricted NZ working rights.
• Avail from mid-November 2026 to mid-February 2027.
• Studying towards a Diploma or Bachelor of Surveying.
• Strong academic performance and passion for surveying.
• Effective communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Placement within the Survey team doing field and office tasks.
• Work on surface and underground projects across the operation.
• Collaborate with Survey team and present learnings to Site Management at internship end.
