Job summary

OceanaGold invites a motivated Geology student to join our Underground Geology team at Waihi. This paid internship runs mid-November to mid-February, with 50 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on-site in the Coromandel region.

Are you atalented and ambitious student studying towards aBachelor of Science (BSc),with amajor in Geology or Earth Sciencesand looking to gain practical experience in your field of study? We have the perfect opportunity for you to join our Underground Geology team at OceanaGold working at our Waihioperation.

This paid internship opportunity will run approximately from mid-November through to mid-February (dependent on exam timetable of the successful applicant) working with our talented Underground Geology team on-site at Waihi. The hours of work are 7 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm, Monday to Friday ( 50 hrs per week). Enjoy your weekends exploring the stunningCoromandel!

What will you bedoing?

• Gaining practical experience in your chosen field of study by working on diverse projects assigned by department managers and teammembers.
• Participating in various group activities and projects with other Interns, providing you with awell-rounded knowledge of the miningprocess.
• Presenting your experiences and key learnings to the Site Management Team at the conclusion of the internship, showcasing your growth and achievements.

Specific project work willinvolve:

• Provide support to underground geologists with face sampling, LIDAR scanning, ore drivemarkup, oredrive and wastemapping.
• Sampling dispatching and importing to Acquiredatabases.
• Data validation.

Key responsibilities willinclude:

• Provide coverage over the summerperiod.
• Ensure core is logged over summerfor data flow into LOMP 2028 models.
• Help implement and complete projectwork.
