Job summary

NZ Customs is seeking a Training & Development Coordinator (fixed term/secondment to January 2028) to support frontline capability at the Auckland Airport area, including the Air Cargo Inspection Facility. This role focuses on coordinating essential programmes, resources, and logistics to ensure consistent, effective delivery nationwide.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR or Training/Learning and Development preferred.
• Strong communication skills, written and oral.
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Ability to obtain organisational security clearance and pass drug test.
• Willingness to travel to meet team needs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Te Ara Ako and Mahia te Mahi (Basic Training Course) and other core training programmes.
• Manage administration and logistics of training delivery across Operations.
• Provide event management for graduations, ceremonies, and formal training activities.
• Maintain training resources including intranet content and LMS materials.
• Support evaluation of training delivery in collaboration with Learning, Capability and Design.
• Apply project management to plan timelines, manage dependencies, and track milestones.
