As the Training & Development Coordinator, you will directly support this mission by building the capability of those who serve at the border.
We’re recruiting a Training and Development Coordinator (12-month parental leave cover) to support the delivery of the programmes that build Customs’ frontline capability. This role will be based out near the Auckland Airport at our Customs' Air Cargo Inspection Facility.
The Training and Development Coordinator plays a key role in organising, supporting, and maintaining the systems that make training possible. This includes coordinating Te Ara Ako and Mahia te Mahi (our Basic Training Course) and core technical and specialist training programmes. Your work ensures facilitators, learners, and programme leads have the resources, logistics, and support they need for consistent, effective delivery across the country.
The role is responsible for managing the administration and logistics of training delivery across the Operations side of Customs. It provides event management for graduations, ceremonies, and other formal training activities, oversees the development and upkeep of training resources including intranet content, LMS materials, records, and reporting, and works closely with the Learning, Capability and Design team to support continuous evaluation of training delivery.
The role also applies strong project management capability to plan wider People and Capability timelines, manage dependencies, track progress, and ensure delivery milestones are met.
