Job summary

Global Express – Mount Maunganui, North Island, is seeking a hands-on Freight Operator for the afternoon shift (4.00pm–12.30am). You will load and unload freight, scan items, sort, and ensure safe, timely movement of all goods. A fast-paced, physical role where teamwork is essential.

Key requirements include a full NZ Class 1 driving licence and a forklift licence with OSH cert. Dangerous Goods endorsement is ideal. Pre-employment checks apply. Immediate eligibility to work in NZ is required.

Qualifications

• Must have clean full NZ Class 1 driving licence.
• Forklift license with OSH certificate is mandatory.
• Dangerous Goods endorsement ideal but not required.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight safely for road and rail units.

Team Global Express NZ delivers freight forwarding, end-to-end transport services, and comprehensive logistics solutions to customers operating in New Zealand from Kaitaia to Invercargill.

Afternoon Shift:

Monday – Friday 4.00pm – 12.30am

About the role - Mō te tūranga

In this hands-on role, you’ll be loading and unloading freight, scanning, sorting and keeping everything moving safely and on time. No two days are the same – its’ a fast‑paced, physical role where teamwork is key.

• Load and unload all freight safely and securely, for both road and rail units.
• Achieve branch operational objectives by using On‑time to scan freight efficiently.
• Ensure all equipment is operated in a safe and proficient manner.
• Maintain good working relationships.
• Communicate effectively within a team environment
