Job summary

Southward Warehouse Automation is seeking a curious, commercially sharp field-based Sales Engineer to grow our New Zealand presence in South Auckland, Waikato, and Tauranga. You will analyse markets, build tailored storage solutions, visit sites, and convert opportunities into long-term B2B accounts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in field sales or similar.
• Hunter mindset with ability to open doors and convert prospects.
• Strong relationship-building with decision-makers.
• Commercial curiosity about customer space, storage, workflow or challenges.
• Organised, analytical, and able to map a territory and execute a plan.
• Self-directed with strong follow-up habits.
• Experience in warehouse storage/logistics/industrial sectors is a plus.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Waikato.
• Full NZ driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Identify, prospect, and engage new business opportunities across warehouse storage, logistics, industrial, manufacturing, and commercial property sectors.
• Build and execute a structured territory engagement plan across South Auckland, Waikato, and Tauranga.
• Target decision-makers, including business owners, operations managers, warehouse managers and commercial tenants.
• Conduct site visits to understand customer requirements and storage needs.
• Work with internal design and operations teams to develop tailored storage solutions and proposals.
• Build and manage a healthy pipeline of new business opportunities, maintaining CRM records and follow-up activity.
• Convert prospects into long-term B2B customers and grow a regional customer base.
