Job summary

The University of Auckland is seeking a strategic, people-focused leader to provide overarching leadership for faculty-based academic services. You will manage relationships with central Student and Scholarly Services and the School of Graduate Studies, ensuring a high-quality, seamless student experience across academic programmes.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a management role within a large, complex organisation.
• Demonstrated skills in team building, change management and collaboration.
• Extensive knowledge of trends and best practice in customer service, including service design, digital delivery and self-service.
• Demonstrable understanding of Te ao Māori and cultural competency development.
• Experience and understanding of academic and student services and university information systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing team with accountability and continuous improvement.
• Implement faculty and University strategic and annual plans for academic and student services.
• Provide accurate advice to Student and Scholarly Services on admissions, progress and completion matters.
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with central divisions and faculty teams.
• Foster collaboration with central admissions and enrolment to optimise outcomes and student experience.
• Plan and deliver ongoing strategic projects and service improvements, including programme changes and admissions enhancements.
