Job summary

University of Auckland is seeking an experienced Facilities & Services Team Leader to oversee two faculties—Law and Business and Economics—based primarily at the Faculty of Law. The role involves leadership, planning, reporting, and project coordination to deliver high-quality support services.

You will lead a small team of coordinators, reception staff and interns, manage day-to-day operations, and coordinate resources to meet service standards.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing a small team.
  • Strong office administration, operations, business support, or service delivery experience.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, correspondence, procedures, and business documentation.
  • Experience generating, analysing, and presenting reports to support operational decision-making.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Liaising with Property Services regarding maintenance, facilities issues, and operational requirements.
  • Building strong relationships with academic and professional staff across the University.
  • Supporting health, safety, business continuity, and operational planning activities.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance service delivery.

Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced and highly organised Facilities & Services Team Leader to join the aligned professional staff services between the Faculty of Business and Faculty of Law.

This is a varied and rewarding leadership role that combines people management, office administration, operational planning, reporting, project coordination, and service delivery. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the two Faculties while leading a team dedicated to delivering high-quality support services.

Based primarily at the Faculty of Law on, Eden Crescent City Campus, you will work closely with stakeholders across both the Faculty of Law and the Business School. The role requires some travelling between the Business School and the Law school.

Leading 2 Facility Coordinators, Reception Staff and Interns you will provide leadership, guidance, and operational oversight to ensure an excellent experience for staff, students, and visitors.

Key responsibilities include:

This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), fixed-term position till December 2027, while a review of resourcing is undertaken.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.

This is a Band F professional staff role with a salary range of $73,400 - $90,700 per annum, dependent on qualifications, skills, and experience.

Based within the Faculty of Law, this role sits within a Facilities Services team that works across both the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Business and Economics, creating opportunities to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

The team is responsible for delivering high-quality administration, operational, and facilities support services that enable staff and students to thrive in a welcoming and well-managed environment.

We are looking for a confident and capable operational leader who is passionate about supporting both people and processes to succeed.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
